Today I would like to write a review on this restaurant that we went in Paris a few days ago. Although I normally try to get away from the typical tourist experiences, searching for the best view of the Eiffel tower when visiting Paris was still definitely on our itinerary.  So I searched on different blogs and decided that the Ciel the Paris would be the perfect place to have a nice meal while enjoying breath-taking views of Paris, in particular the tower.

Location

The Ciel de Paris is located in this area called Montparnasse, which is south of the river Seine, on the 56th floor of a building that is strategically located facing the tower. The building itself, called Tour Montparnasse, is not particularly known for its beautiful exterior :) , but you can certainly have one of the best views of the city from there. In this area you will also find many shops and a lively crowd.

Ambience

As we get inside the building, the whole atmosphere changes to a fancier one and, as soon as we get to the top, we are greeted by this friendly hostess who asks if we had a reservation. This is a very popular spot so I would recommend making one if you want to guarantee your space there. As soon as we go in, we couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the fantastic view. That, by itself, was worth the money we were going to spend there as nothing gives you the most ideal Parisian feel than to see the Tour Eiffel standing beautifully in front of you while having a nice French meal. People were quite well dressed, but you could notice other tourists also enjoying their time there.

Food

As we read the menu, we were presented by traditional French cuisine, but with a noticeable modern twist. For the vegetarians, their menu didn’t really offer many options but they were happy to provide us with one by taking off any meat from the dishes, which I thought it was very nice of them. Their dishes were composed by sea food, veal, duck or other well cooked vegetables. We decided to go for a three-course meal and a bottle of French wine. The food itself was quite good and satisfying! And we were pleased especially because it was fairly priced.

Service

The service was another good aspect of this place. We were treated well from the moment we arrived, starting from the hostess to the waiter, unlike a few other restaurants we've been in Paris, where we found some people to be a bit grumpy (which happens in many big cities). And again, we were pleased that they were able to provide one of us with vegetarian dishes even though it wasn’t in their menu.

In conclusion, I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting or who lives there. The amazing view makes it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or for just capturing the whole Eiffel tower at one of its best angles.
